Welcome to the New Generation of Barbells
Setup Guide
Step 1:
Put your old barbell on a squat rack or other surface where it is secure.
Step 2:
Use snap ring pliers to remove your barbell's old ends. Next, you will have to remove two snap rings. The first one holds the dust cap in, and the second holds the washers and half-moon washers in.
Don't worry if this step takes a bit; snap rings can be pretty pesky. Once they are halfway out, a small flathead screwdriver can be helpful. Highly recommend wearing safety glasses and using your hand to stop the snap rings from flying across your gym :).
Step 3:
After both the snap rings and dust cap are removed, slide the barbell sleeve inwards (towards the middle of the barbell).
Step 4:
Sliding the barbell sleeve inwards will expose the washers and half-moon washers and allow you to remove them.
Step 5:
Once those have been removed you are cleared to slide off the old sleeve.
Step 6:
Now, moving to the good stuff, unscrew the Quiet Lift end cap from the new barbell sleeve.
Step 7:
Slide the new end onto the bar. Slide the two newly supplied washers on to the bar. Then insert the half-moon washers into the groove on the bar (Opposite of Step 4). This step is a little greasy, so be ready with gloves, rags, or paper towels.
Step 8:
With the washers and half-moon washers on the bar, slide the barbell sleeve over the washers, which will allow you to screw the barbell end cap back on. After that, you are done.
Maintenance
To keep your new Quiet Lift Barbell in top condition no oil is required, unlike the metal bars, as the non-metal (patent pending) surface will not rust. To clean, unscrew the end cap and pull the plastic sleeve off. Then, use a rag with some soap to remove the dirt and grime. Lastly, rinse the soap off and dry thoroughly before reinstalling.
Every week, check the end cap to ensure it is snug. Failure to check will result in increased noises, damage to the threads or bearings, or both.
