Our Story
Quiet Lift's Owner and Designer: Peter Stegemann
I experience the same annoyance that lifters encounter in the gym during barbell exercises: “Excuse me, sir. Please do not drop the weights so aggressively as you are bothering the yoga class and people on the ellipticals.”
After disrupting the peace for the 4th time that month, I realized that my sole focus was solidly on being quiet rather than on the crucial matter of form and mental focus during my lift.
That is when the bell went off in my head. A better-designed product that reduces noise would allow me to focus on my lift rather than on being quiet.
There needs to be a new solution, a new barbell, one that has been designed using modern technology. I love barbell exercises, just like the next guy. I believe in them and wish the gym atmosphere would encourage people and make it easier for them to do those exercises.
As I got more and more involved and engaged in lifting, I became aware about a big issue — the disconnect between what lifters want and how gym owners want their gym atmosphere to be. This resulted is annoyed owners and clients.
The problem is the barbell — not the owners or lifters.
With Quiet Lift (Patent Pending) design I have solved this problem.
